Nurtured at Home is an established, experienced and growing home based childcare service.

We are committed to providing quality childcare and education in a nurturing home environment and are seeking Educators to join our supportive team.

If you’re passionate about children’s learning and want to work from home while being available to your own family, we’d love to hear from you. Quality care begins with meaningful and respectful interactions personalised to each child.

Our fully qualified and registered Visiting Teachers are there to support and work alongside you to achieve this and will visit your home regularly.

Educator Application

01 About you

So we know who's applying, and the best way to reach you.

02 Eligibility to work

Educators work with us as self-employed contractors, not employees.

You'll need to hold NZ citizenship, residency, or a visa that permits self-employed contract work.
This is a standard, required part of onboarding for anyone caring for children with us.
Not required to apply - this just helps us understand your background. We'll support you to enrol in study within 6 months of starting as an educator.

03 Your experience

No formal qualification is required to apply - we're just as interested in your story.

Frequently Asked Questions

We’ll support you to set your own rate, so you can choose this suitable to your local community. You will have the choice to collect fees directly from parents, or we can do this on your behalf. You’ll send us attendance records each week, and in addition to your weekly fees from parents, we’ll also reimburse you an additional hourly amount from the Ministry of Education funding we receive. There is no administration or processing fee with Nurtured at Home for this service.

Home-based care and education is really flexible and can work in with you and your own family’s requirements. You can choose to work either part-time or full-time and can choose to have between 1 and 4 preschool children (including your own preschool children) at any one time.

If you would like to take time off throughout the year, Nurtured at Home can support with alternative care for your care children during this time (conditions apply).

Our fully qualified and registered Visiting Teachers are there to provide ongoing guidance and support and will visit your home regularly. We offer free resources including nursery equipment, Discovery Days, and other community outings and events which can supplement the programme offered in your home. We support you with a range of ongoing professional development opportunities tailored to your needs, a Level 4 Certificate in ECE, First Aid Certificate, and free quality resources.

You’ll receive a bi-monthly newsletter, keeping you up-to-date with what’s happening at Nurtured at Home and around the regions, and access to a closed Facebook page dedicated to your community. In addition to the range of marketing Nurtured at Home undertakes on behalf of Educators, we provide you with free marketing material so that you can promote yourself within your community.
